Brigham Young University (BYU) is a private institution of higher education that is open to the general public with some restrictions. The university is committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment for all members of the campus community. The university retains the right to restrict access to university property for various reasons, including but not limited to safety and security considerations.

As a condition to entrance upon BYU property, individuals assume an obligation to conduct themselves in a manner compatible with the university’s policies and procedures. Individuals may be banned and denied access to any property owned or controlled by the university if they act, or if the university has reasonable cause to believe that they intend to act, to: (1) violate public laws or university policies or procedures, (2) represent a perceived danger to university property, self, or any member of the campus community, (3) disturb, disrupt, or interfere with the peaceful conduct of the normal operations and activities of the university, or (4) have no lawful business to pursue at the university.

Failure to comply with a ban notice may result in arrest or citation.
